Congratulations to the EAC families with 9/11/06 LID that received referral today. They waited about 6 years for referral from CCCWA. Babies have big chubby cheeks. Families will be traveling to China in a few months to bring their girls home.
That's how long non-special needs referrals are taking these days. We are in the process of adopting a beautiful little girl with a cleft lip and palate and only waited 4 months for a referral. I haven't been able to find a good reason NSN referrals take so long, but my understanding is that many agencies aren't event accepting famillies who aren't open to children on the special needs list. I read somewhere that NSN referral waiting times are expected to hit a decade or more.
