Noel, Special Focus Individual Referral for EAC

Noel is a 7 yr old girl with delayed language development. She considers the orphanage her home and the children in the orphanage are her brothers and sisters. Yet, she sees so many children being adopted that she asks the teachers if she will be adopted. When the teacher asks her if she is willing to be adopted, she always answers "I am willing." She uses the bathroom on her own, gets dressed and feeds herself. She is a good student who follows the rules. She gets along well with other children and follows the teacher's instructions. She has a cheerful personality and loves to smile.

With special focus referrals, families have 6 months to submit the dossier to CCCWA. Please contact EAC if you are interested in learning more about Noel.

Holidays and your children

We would like to wish everyone the happiest of holidays!  Please remember, some of the children have never experienced Christmas, the way your families celebrate.  They may feel confused, or overwhelmed, and this will show in their sleep pattern, eating, or overall personality.  If you have any questions, or would like more information, don't hesitate to call our office (800-533-0098) and ask for Deb at the Help Desk.

Zhou will be home this weekend after 5 weeks in China. Four families picked up their visas and are on their way home.

We're waiting for TA's (travel approval) so our next trip can be scheduled.
Congratulations to the families that accepted referrals from last weeks special needs posting.
Have a good weekend
Chris & Karla

Special Focus Referral for EAC - Alison

CCCWA has issued a special focus individual referral to EAC:

Alison is an active 8 year old girl with a speech delay. She likes to be praised by adults. At 5 years old, she was active at things she enjoyed and she would neglect activies she didn't like. She liked to play alone. At 6 years old she would sometimes scratch her hands until they bled. Her imagination was the same as peers but her memory was not as good. Now at 8 years old, she understands everything and will help the caregivers when asked. She does not attend school.

Four baby girls are now with their forever families. The families are bonding with their daughters and enjoying this special time in China.
CCCWA posted special needs referrals tonight. Some referrals may return to the shared site on Thursday evening. We continue to monitor the shared data base for families who have a dossier logged in at CCCWA.

We want to welcome home 5 new families from China. All the children are doing great. Everyone is very tired but also very happy.
