Meet Melissa, EAC special focus individual referral

Melissa likes to play with little toys and is curious, always asking "What is that?"


Melissa is a 4 years old girl who enjoys walks outside. She rarely has a cold or fever. She can walk up & down steps and jump. Melissa asks the caretaker for things and likes to play interactive games with adults. She is afraid of strangers. She listens carefully to what you say and giggles when happy. Melissa has a language development delay and was diagnosed with mild cerebral palsy. Melissa has a good appetite and isn't a picky eater. She has a ready smile and is learning colors.

Happy Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year. 2013 is the year of the snake. We hope everyone had a Happy Valentine's Day.
Please meet our newest Valentine: Emily. 

Emily is a special focus baby who is available for a single woman or a married couple to adopt.


At 18 months old, Emily enjoyed rocking in the rocking chair and being cuddled. Now Emily is 2 yrs old. She can feed herself a bowl of porridge and enjoys playing games with caregivers. She can scribble and likes to play with dolls. She likes to play with the other children. She uses words to express her needs but she is shy. Emily's special needs are cleft lip/palate and she is Hepatitis B positive.

Meet April, Special Focus referral for EAC

April is a lovely 4 year old girl that likes picture books and cartoons. She can stand and walk holding onto the railing even though her right leg is much smaller than the left leg. When she was 2 years old she knew the parts of the body. She liked to watch other children play but she didn't like to share her toys or food. If other children wanted her toys, she would cry. She eats a variety of foods and is not a picky eater. She likes playing games with the caregiver. When a TV show is over, she'll clap her hands. She likes to listen to music.

April is a special focus little girl who is available to married couples as well as single women who qualify for China. The dossier needs to be submitted to China with in 6 months of acceptance of referral.

Christian Special Focus Individual referral for EAC

Christian loves to learn and looks forward to going to school every day.


Christian is a 3 year old boy who is always the first one running to welcome the teachers in the morning when they come to take the children to school. He'll take the teacher's hand and blow the caregiver a kiss and say "goodbye."  He likes to play with other children. He's potty trained. At night if he doesn't want to go to bed, he'll say that he needs to potty and then he'll go in the hall and play. He likes to help the caregivers with simple chores like getting the diapers for the younger children. Sometimes he likes to imitate adults movement, which everyone finds very funny. He has a good appetite but he doesn't like to eat his vegetables. His special needs conditions are post-op hydrocephaly, post-op right hernia and post-op cervical meningocele. His has a normal life and normal routine.

Christian is a good eater but don't be surprised if he doesn't eat  his veggies. 

Heath special focus individual referral for EAC

Heath is an energetic 3 year old boy who is deaf and mute. The orphanage caregivers describe Heath as mischievous as a little monkey. He'll disappear if you turn your back on him for a minute. He likes to throw a ball outside and run after it. Then he'll look to see if a caregiver notices, if not, he'll continue to play out side until someone gets him. He is picky with clothes and food. He likes to wear colorful clothes. He eats well when it's a favorite food but if he sees food he doesn't like, he'll throw rice. Some of his favorite foods are different kinds of fruits, biscuits, and yogurt. He likes to look at picture books and play games. Although he doesn't speak, his eyes sparkle as if they were talking to you. Although he can not hear, he understands "No." He is very clever and he doesn't give up until he reaches his goal.

Trenton special focus baby





Trenton at 4 months old




Trenton at 18 months
Trenton is an 18 month old baby boy who has hypospadias, undescended testicles, and a small ASD. He can walk very steadily and goes up and down stairs holding onto the rail. He has very good fine motor skills; for example, he'll pick up small things off the ground like thread. Trenton says papa, mama and babbles when he's in a good mood. He likes to imitate what the caregivers do and say, following them around and making them laugh. He looks at picture books and can eat out of a bowl. He's not a picky eater. Trenton understands the caregivers and follows simple instructions. He likes to play with balls and cars and to go outside. Trenton usually sleeps on his stomach while sucking his fingers.

Emma EAC special focus individual referral


Emma is an energetic 18 month old who enjoys playing late at night in her crib. She was diagnosed with nanophthalmos of both eyes and small corneal of both eyes.
She can say "mama" and can walk with the help of an adult. She can stand alone for about 10 minutes. She likes to play with musical and movable toys. She will follow a moving toy. If she hears a toy playing music, she'll crawl over. She can be stubborn some times; if she doesn't get what she wants, she will throw a tantrum. Her caregiver will comfort her by taking her outside. She'll eat any food given to her but she does not like to drink water. She likes for the caregiver to hold her, talk to her and play with her. When she's happy, she has a sweet smile.
Emma likes to play with toys that make music.

Families or Single Women meeting CCCWA requirements are eligible to adopt Emma. The dossier must be submitted to CCCWA with in 6 months of accepting referral. Please contact EAC if you are interested in learning more about Emma or other China waiting children.
